Several years ago I had full-color SC patches made. (They're still available)

The same could be done for a SP equivalent.

Jeff,
I was thinking about an making or having made the SC patch design that I got from you into a decal, will there be any problem as far as copywrite or anything else official to do with SC.I would probably to the same with the SP logo. This would be for my own personal use,not for sale or profit.

hi Andy,

I've been selling them for $7.00 + postage/shipping costs.

TD,

I don't think there would be a problem with getting SC decals made, though you will need to get EC approval. (shouldn't be difficult)

That's a pain, because I'll incurr high bank charges for sending money that way. Paypal is cheap and easy.

Same Here, I will have to leave it in that case, it would cost me just as much or more in fees to get one

Jeff,

One word. Paypal buddy. It makes it so easy for people to purchase online. Even SC dues. ;)

Also you'll have this account the wife doesn't look at. Perfect for hobby purchases. Also you can get a master card-ATM that works every where even the gas station. It's free and you can't spend what you don't have. The perfect credit card that isn't.

IT'S Free?
ok for the people in one country to use to each other.
However for over the border/ overseas transactions it's currently about 5% charged to the recipient.
Also paypal uses it's own currency conversion rates ie what paypal reckons is the exchange rate (usually unrelated to the posted exchange rates)

06-11-2006, 07:46 PM
I meant the card. Nothing is free. Not anymore. ;)

Steve,

While I do like the convience that PayPal provides, I am a bit leery of using it based on what we've been finding out as part of our research into using it for the SC (dues, etc.).

I'm also not exactly thrilled with the idea of giving PayPal my credit card or bank account number(s).

I've used Paypal for purchases all over the world and never had a problem with the excahnge rates or anything. The Paypal account itself is free. You can sign up for one on Ebay even!

I had one issue with paypal in the years that I have had an account, and let me say, they were very helpful. They gave me all the information needed to give to the police and helped me get the money back. I highly recommend it. It is wise to change your passwords now and again, and do a good virus check of the computer that you are using now and again, but if you are savvy enough to get this far to a forum and post pics, you are savvy enough to protect your account. I might be in for a flag, but I would sure prefer a shirt with that on the back and something over the lapel in the front.

One point I would make to everyone here is to be careful of spoof emails, but apart from that I've no problems using Paypal..

Michael

06-13-2006, 01:50 AM
They always address you by name. That's all you need to know. And they rarely send you an email unless it's to tell you of a transaction.

This is clearly stated on their web site yet many get scammed and blame paypal.

Scams include your bank. They will ask you to update your records by addressing you as City Bank customer for example. What's the difference. Learn to read.

Steve

06-13-2006, 01:53 AM
Steve,

It wasn't a critism of Paypal, it's just that if people are struggling to post a picture of this forum (on offence intended) I can see them being easily fooled by a spoof email.

Only meant it as a heads up...

Michael

I know that Michael, your a sharp bloke.

The point of the response is to inform people that may not know this. It works for any online bank.

I know you know that.

I reckon it's a good idea to give everyone the benefit of the doubt initially until you're really sure they mean to upset you in a post or whatever, before taking offence if you get my drift!
I've found I often get really severely reprimanded for lots of my posts that have had the wrong effect. I'm usually trying to be funny, or just expressing a point badly, not being nasty. I think others have the same trouble. Can't we trust each other to be cool and not jump to conclusions? We have varying cultures and ways of saying things and it can make us sound rude when we're trying to be nice. I hope this makes sense.

A shirt would be awsome.
Mysteriously, I am short on time. I will need one as soon as they come out. Something scary, like a huge skull and crossbones on the back, and a littler version on the left breast with logo.
Do-rag, or fluffy plume from a captain's hat like Himszy posted a while back.
Then, they would say we are a gay crowd!!

Update
I just delivered the pattern to a flag maker and should have a price estimate sometime next week. I will be delayed getting back with the pricing as Tuesday is surgery day.
Slight downside the Vendor only takes orders for runs of 100 or more.
The first flags will be a modest 8" X 10" grommeted and a sleeved for either a car or Xmiter antenna size of 4" X 6".

Waiting still on word from the vendor. Damn it I wanted these out in time for the regattas. I'll drop by the place this week on the way to my PT and see whats going on.

I'm going to go for black t-shirts with the logo. Between the flag on your TX and the shirt we will be indentified at the meets. They will run in terror.

If they come at us they make an easy target!
