Dave,
A few questions about your new 3 in. WTC.Have you done anything towards finishing the twin screw version and would this WTC work in a 63 inch hull as I`m having some thoughts about doing another boat this spring/summer.I`m thinking about a TYPE XXI from WarFish Models and was wandering if your WTC could handle this hull.

Hi TD,
I think the 63" may be a little over the limit of the ballast tank capacity. I am working on the dual motor system and it is working out well so far. BD.

I have laid eyes on the warfish hull.
Real nice kit.
TD,
I'd go for a diameter of four to five inches for a cylinder in a boat that size.
Why not have a go at growing your own WTC. It isn't that hard, and I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice from folk on here if you decide to go that route.
BTW, those looking to build large ballast systems using compressed air may be interested to know of something I've been messing about with recently- air horn pumps.
These pumps are used for those novelty air hooters some folk fit to their cars.
They're designed to pump high volume at low(ish) pressure, and are rotary vane style.
The unit I have was purchased S/H off of ebay for a couple of pounds, and my experiments show it'll empty a gallon in a few seconds- impressive.
One of these coupled to a vented main ballast tank, and a piston trim tank would make a great system for boats with a high freeboard.
Here's a place seeling new compressors for $19

I just wanted to post a few progress photos. This is the power end of the twin screw DW-WTC-3.0. This is just the prototype and not finished yet but I got both motor Gbox units to fit quite well. BD.

BD,
What size are those motors, and what is the gear ratio?

Hi Michael,
The motors are Speed-300, and the ratio is 3.75/1. But I can adjust the ratio from 2.8/1 to 6.6/1 depending on the boat and prop size. BD.
