Someone produced a twin screw Albacore with Skip's old kit. It may have been Skip himself. It was very impressive!

    Kevin,

The one I have seen was probably 10 yrs ago. Who in the hell is Lord Voldemort?

    Joel,

How about a 'How To" thread on your carbon fiber composite props? You have my interest there!! I have made my own props from brass, White metal(dont like these at all), and CF reinforced resin, but my CF props look much different from yours. I like the looks of yours much better!

    Matt

Otherwise, how similar/different are the screw designs on Albacore and Jack?

With all this stuff in mind in I've gotten motivated and ordered the book Albacore: Forerunner of the Future.
    Hi Carter,
The blade shapes differed from the Jack to the Albacore. The front screw was 12' and aft one was 10' diameter and the Albacores' were smaller too. You might not have known it while you were at Albacore park, but they have a propeller garden there and they actually display the Jack's two screws in it.

Your last picture depicts what is happening there very well. The front prop has a very shallow pitch and the aft almost looks like it could fit on a wakeboarding boat!

Here's a photo of Propeller gardens. Don't know which propellers are which but it should be easy enough to figure out.

The one standing on edge is from the Albacore and one laying on the ground is a spare from the Albacore. The other two are from the USS Jack.

I walked right past them without paying attention!

I also saw that Albacore with the twin screws. It was Skip's and I think he was offering the counter screws as a mod at the time. He used brass for the screws, as I recall, and the screws and the assembly looked terrific.

(Isn't Lord Voldemort the bad guy in the Harry Potter books?)
